The server is always right
Every calculation involving money happens and is validated on the server. The client is a display : it never decides a price or a balance. That is what makes cheating pointless.
Ludopia is an independent studio and publisher. We make browser games that borrow their rules from the real world — a market that genuinely reacts to supply and demand, a city that is really built — and that hold up on the day a lot of people show up at once.
A stock market game could settle for a line that goes up at random. Ours computes a price from the real net flow of players, damped, pulled back towards a fundamental value, capped at every quote — because that mechanism is what we want people to understand, and you only understand what resists you.
Same logic on the city side : in Villopia, a street that no longer serves anyone is a genuine planning problem, not scenery. Our worlds share a suffix, a platform, and that obsession with rules that stand up.
See the three universesThey live in the repositories, not on a poster. When a decision is hard, one of them settles it.

A feature is only « done » once a probe proves it in production. Nine junctions out of nine equipped, not « the signs work better now ».
Gold for production, cyan for gems, coral for urgency, purple for prestige. A new element joins an existing domain ; it does not invent its own hue.
150 ms for a micro-motion, 250 for a panel, 400 for a celebration. A button physically sinks ; it does not merely change shade.
Two implementations of the same rule always end up diverging. When we clean a road network, we call the existing rule tile by tile rather than writing a variant.
It speeds things up and personalises, never someone else's place. And a parental cap applies before the payment, not after.
The studio ships continuously. Here are the steps that mattered these past few days — the detail lives in the news.
The road network drew itself on every placement and never retracted : every street that became useless froze land for good. A single action now gives those tiles back, without ever landlocking a building or cutting the network in two.
An outage had been found by a player before the server noticed. The dashboard now shows a Health section : errors in the last hour, rate-limit refusals, server failures — a bounded log with no personal data whatsoever.
Gem purchases through Stripe Checkout : no card number ever touches our servers. The monthly Parent Area cap is checked before the trip to Stripe even starts, and a refund removes the matching gems.
The game joins the family of -opia worlds and takes the tradopia.app domain. The audience widens : 8 to 99 years old, with the interface of a real trading app rather than a childish skin.
The third world. Genetics, training, a competition calendar : we settle the economy before drawing the first horse.
We read everything. Press, partnership, player feedback or a spontaneous application — one inbox, and a real answer.
